39, phoneless, and trying to think like a dog

Hi [FORMATTED_FIRST_NAME GOES HERE] - Today is my birthday! I'm 39 šš„³ Last night I went to a birthday dinner with two of my Capricorn friends and had to leave in a rushā¦ and I left my phone at the restaurant. I canāt get it back until 4pm today. š³ So yes. A whole day with no phone. On my birthday. You know what? This is the best gift I could've received! No scrolling. No notifications. No way to post on Instagram. Highly recommend! Part of why I'm enjoying being unreachable is that Iāve never enjoyed the birthday spotlight. Even as a kid, it just wasnāt my thing. But this year Iām really trying to lean in and receive the love being sent my way. š Last year was a hard one, and this month thereās a lot to celebrateā¦ so Iām letting myself celebrate it! Earlier this month, I officially became a MediaVine publisher (a goal Iāve been working toward since I started blogging in 2013!). I also hit my 400th class at my boxing gym, where Iām also a coach. And Iāve got some BIG moves coming at the end of the monthā¦ still under wraps, but I promise to share soon. š¤« As Iām celebrating another year here on Earth, I canāt help but notice how much joy in my life is thanks to dogs. Dogs are incredible at being present. And they donāt mask their joy. If theyāre happy, you know it! Despite all the milestones we love to celebrate and post about, itās the small, quiet moments with my dogs that mean the most to me. So thatās what Iām doing today. Moving slow. Being present.
